Traffic Flow Changes at the Larimer County Landfill

Larimer County, Colorado—Beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, December 20, vehicles bringing trash to the Larimer County Landfill will be routed over one of two new incoming scales at the previous gatehouse sites.  Customers will exit over another scale to be weighed out as they leave the landfill. The Larimer County Open Lands Advisory Board meeting, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, has been cancelled. The next meeting will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2010 at the Loveland Municipal Building at 500 East Third Street in Loveland.  All meetings are open to the public. Poudre River Trail at River Bluffs Open Space to Open

A new section of the Poudre River Trail, located near Windsor, Colorado now open for public access, for the first time.  Trail head is located on the south side of CR 32E between Larimer County Road 3 and Weld County Road 13. This ½-mile section of trail is an extension of a 21-mile section of the Poudre River Trail that connects Island Grove Park in Greeley, to State Highway 392, west of Windsor. Hermit Park closes December 20

  Hermit Park Open Space to Implement Winter-Season Closure The Larimer County Department of Natural Resources has instituted an operational business change for the winter months at Hermit Park Open Space. The area will be closed to all use starting on December 20, 2010. It will open again for all use on March 1, 2011. These are typically the months of lowest visitation with very few campers or hikers.

Larimer County Annual Entrance Permits for 2011

The 2011 Larimer County Department of Natural Resources' Annual Entrance Permits, for parks and open spaces managed by Larimer County, will be available for purchase on December 1. These are 13-month permits, valid December 2010, through December 2011, and allow use of Carter Lake, Flatiron Reservoir, Hermit Park Open Space, Horsetooth Reservoir, Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, Pinewood Reservoir, and Ramsay-Shockey Open Space.
