Kudos to the Moon Theater Company

Kudos to the Moon Theater Company

To the Editor: Kudos to director Kathleen Gruman and the cast and crew of Moon Theatre Company's just-ended run of You Can't Take it with You. Thanks for treating the Berthoud community to a funny and professional-quality production. As all of us deal with the effects of our economy's downturn and many are vowing to live more simply, Grandpa's line "You can't take it with you" has renewed meaning. Outstanding acting and directing, a comfortable venue, the chance to talk with old friends ... Full Story

Justin Smith’s Website Good and Informative

Dear Editor: I just finished reviewing Justin Smith’s web site. I have to admit, I didn’t know much about him. I originally thought he would not have many new ideas, but I was very wrong to make those assumptions. He is a family man and with his wife, is raising two sons in our community. Justin values education, community participation, and most importantly, serving and protecting the citizens of the county. He has the support and endorsements of many community leaders. I really think he ... Full Story

Our Economy

Our Economy

To the Editor, This is a fine mess we’ve gotten ourselves into. Both our unemployment rate and our national debt are ‘way too high, and improving either one will make the other worse. Spending money to increase jobs will increase our debt. Laying off government workers to lower spending will increase unemployment. More unemployment = less consumer spending = fewer new jobs. If we do nothing, we stagnate. The Obama Administration is struggling mightily with this inherited mess, but ... Full Story

Just 3 questions Mr. Tancredo

Just 3 questions Mr. Tancredo

Dear Mr. Tancredo, As concerned citizens and Republican delegates, we were able to meet, interview and vet many of the candidates who respected the caucus process enough to solicit our support in their bid for candidacy. Since you elected not to participate in that process, we feel that the following questions must be answered before you can be deemed worthy of support: 1.     You made a solemn term-limits vow to serve no more than three terms as a Congressman, not once but on numerous ... Brian DelGrosso

to the Editor; I am pleased to have met and gotten to know Brian DelGrosso and his family over the last year. Brian stepped up last August to fill the vacant House Seat for the people of Loveland. Brian has does an exceptional job for us. He has worked to bring not only common sense to the state house, but fairness too. Brian is a small business owner, he owns a pizza shop. Like all small businesses, he has felt the impact of the economic down turn and has had to make difficult decisions and ... Full Story

Goodbye Jeremy and Debbie

Goodbye Jeremy and Debbie

It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to Jeremy Roush and Debbie Hermance as they permanently take up residence in Massachusetts. While we rejoice that Jeremy has found such a great position that will make use of his culinary skills and background, we realize that their relocation is a loss to our community. Jeremy and Debbie have an attitude of grace and generosity that is rarely encountered in personal relationships and even more rarely found in business. We’re so thankful that they ... Full Story

Yes, The U.S. is a democracy

Yes, The U.S. is a democracy

To the Editor, There they go again with their “the USA is not a democracy” nonsense. The Tea Party and 9/12 groups insist that we are a constitutional republic, but not a democracy. A republic is defined as any government that is not a monarchy. We have no king or queen; hence ours must be a republic -- like many others. China is a communist republic; Iran is an Islamic republic. What kind of “republic” are we? We have a constitution, so it’s fair to say, yes, we’re a ... Full Story

My fellow liberty loving citizens!

My fellow liberty loving citizens!

Carl Bruning, a close and trusted friend of mine, is running for sheriff of Larimer County with the sole purpose of defending our Constitutional rights from all threats foreign and domestic. He has made a personal promise to me that he will do everything within his power as sheriff to defend our liberties from an ever encroaching federal government. Carl has also been endorsed by the likes of Tom Tancredo, former sheriff Richard Mack, the Republican Liberty Caucus, as well as the Rocky ... Full Story

Justin Smith only realistic choice

Justin Smith only realistic choice

Dear Editor: Justin Smith is the only realistic choice for Larimer County Sheriff. Justin has worked in local law enforcement for nearly 20 years and has administered the Larimer County Sheriff’s budget, managed the detention center, responded to emergencies and most importantly, patrolled the streets of this community and responded to victims in Larimer County for most of his career.
