 At least 12 are dead in Aurora, Colorado, gunned down by a mad man at a showing of the new Batman movie filled with make-believe violence. One of the guns the shooter used was an AK-47 type, assault weapon that was banned in 1994. The National Rifle Association saw to it that the ban expired in 2004. Prison inmate convicted of murder

Jury convicts man housed in ADX “step down unit” of second degree murde DENVER – Today a federal jury convicted Dominic Stewart, age 36, of the 2005 murder of Gregory Joiner while both were housed in the U.S. Bureau of Prison’s “step down unit” within the ADX in Florence, Colorado.  The jury convicted Stewart of second degree murder following a 7-day trial before U.S. District Court Judge Robert E.   A woman ices her husband with anti-freeze Shirley Allen is arrested for poisoning her husband, Lloyd Allen, with ethylene glycol, commonly known as anti-freeze. After witnessing her mother spike Lloyd's drinks with the deadly substance, Shirley's own daughter turned her in to the authorities. Lloyd Allen was Shirley's sixth husband and the second to die from mysterious causes; the other four had divorced her.
