June 1 - 5 Wednesday, June 1 Squad 61 responded to the 800 block of Humboldt Peak Lane to help the homeowner with changing the smoke detector batteries. Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services crews were called to assist the Wellington Fire Department today on a grass fire in the area of Vesta Lane and County Road 9. The fire was reported at approximately noon today. Poudre Fire Authority was also called to assist. The grass fire burned approximately 650 acres and is currently about 90% contained. Denver, Colo. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has authorized the use of federal funds to help with firefighting costs for the Four Mile Canyon Fire in Boulder County. Fire operations continue at Round Mountain
Estes Park, Colo. – Fire operations continued today on the Round Mountain Fire that is burning on the Canyon Lake Ranger District of the Arapaho Roosevelt National Forest. The fire was declared 100 percent contained at 8:00 p.m. on June 27th. Three Type II crews continue to patrol the fire and mop-up any remaining hot spots.
