“Ink to Boards” One-Act Play Script Writing Competition & Festival

“Ink to Boards” intertwines each element of theater from script through production, and beyond!  The basic concept includes submission of original one-act play scripts, inviting a community of readers to review, feedback, and select five (5) scripts to be produced.  (Readers aren’t required to submit a play  ~ but are encouraged to give it a shot!)

This project creates an opportunity for individuals who might not venture into more formal competitions, but have a good story idea.  So, writers and writers-to be: sharpen-up your pencils and write that 20-minute once-act with a maximum of four characters.  No previous experience is required ~ You may become a produced playwright!

In addition, readers who might have never participated in the script selection process get to discuss and feedback to the writers so a revision may take place during the process.  This is an experience for all involved in shepherding a production through the creative process.

Wednesday, January 19 – Revision/Final Script Due

Readers & Voting:

Thursday, January 6 – Reading & Feedback Begins
Friday, January 21 – Voting Begins
Thursday, February 3 – Voting Ends

Winners & Production:

Saturday, February 5 – Winners Announced On-Line
