Neil Oberg took this photo early on Thursday morning. From behind Indigo Sky he photographed the fox in the planter box in front of the Habitat ReStore. It is that time of year again when the creatures venture out looking for food. The Division of Wildlife has recently publicized that it is illegal to feed wild animals. While the foxes are "cute," they can be dangerous, especially if cornered. It is best to use the same guidelines applied in State and Federal parklands, keep all food secure ... Full Story

Rare Find: Mink

Ken Locke of Berthoud examines what he believes is a dead mink he discovered near the west edge of Highway 287. Locke said he worked at a mink farm in Connecticut when he was a teenager and felt pretty confident in his identification. At 23 inches long and three pounds, the animal fits the size description listed on the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) for an adult male mink.
