Precautionary Evacuation Recommended north and south

Date:   April 5, 2011 At approximately 6:25 p.m. this evening, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office issued a telephone notification to residents along Moondance Way, Red Tail Ridge Way and Stringtown Gulch Road to evacuate the area.   In addition, residents along Lightning Ridge Way, Ohana Way, Deer Path St. and the lower portion of Wildsong Rd. have been contacted to evacuate. Crystal Fire blows up to 2,000 acres

Shortly after midnight the Larimer County Emergency Information Center announced that the Crystal Fire has blown up with sustained 50 mph winds and evacuations had been ordered. At that time the fire was estimated at 800 to 1100 acres with no containment. Emergency phone notifications went out to approximately 40 residences in the Stringtown Gulch area of the Buckhorn Canyon.
