U.S. Highway 34 closure postponed

Colorado Department of Transportation Press Release Due to the inclement weather forecasted for Sunday and Monday, the contractor has decided to postpone the closure of US 34 just east of Estes Park, which was scheduled to begin on March 1st for bridge demolition and reconstruction. At this time, it is unknown when the closure will begin as the contractor is trying to find a window of good weather. Second full closure of U.S. Highway 34

Press Release Colorado Department of Transportation The second full closure of US 34 just east of Estes Park is still scheduled to take place Monday, March 1 through Friday, March 12, weather permitting.  The closure is necessary to allow the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to replace the last steel truss bridge on US 34 in the Big Thompson Canyon.  The two steel truss bridges being replaced as part of this project were originally constructed in 1937 and are in poor ...
