Berthoud: November 9, 2010 The Berthoud Trustees moved through their agenda quickly on Tuesday night, finishing the session in slightly over 45 minutes. Speaking in the Citizen Participation time, Lexi DiPentino and Laurel Downer told the board about their new group, Berthoud Military Family Support. Military moms start support group

Three military mothers started a local support group for each other and for their families. Laural Downer and Beth Sterck are the founding members and as one of their first projects, they want to send packages to local service men and women serving overseas. Berthoud man shot and killed by SWAT unit

Berthoud man was shot and killed by a SWAT unit after deputies say he opened fire on them Monday night. It's a policeman's worst nightmare, being called to a scene of domestic violence and finding someone with a weapon. Monday night around 9 p.m. Berthoud police responded to a call at 730 Bruce Drive.
