      This weekend is the annual plant sale at the McCarty-Fickel house. The garden committee has been busy getting the plants ready! There is a wide variety of flowers, heirloom vegetables, and herbs to choose from. Everything from Patty Pan Squash to nasturtiums to Pink Caspian tomatoes will be available.   People who drive past Riverglenn on County Road 17 are usually treated to the sight of a pair of swans swimming in Treena and Dave Milano’s pond. This week however, the swans are usually sequestered in their enclosure. The reason, on Tuesday the pen hatched three of the five eggs in her clutch and Milano was worried that the foxes and coyotes that frequent the area might find the cygnets a tasty meal. Crystal Fire Human-Caused

Investigators from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Forest Service have determined the Crystal Fire was started by the son of a property owner burning debris at 2394 Granite Road, Bellvue, Colorado. Thomas Howie, DOB: 01/03/75, of Fort Collins will be charged with one count of 4th Degree Arson, a class four felony.  A warrant for his arrest is expected to be issued within 24 to 48 hours.  A $10,000 personal recognizance bond has been recommended. From Larimer County Emergency Informatin The following information update has been made for: Crystal Fire Well hallelujah and better late than never: we have finally gotten some real moisture and more than just enough to make the dirt roads slightly muddy. In Fort Collins we generally have (as of around 2:30 p.m.) from between 2/3 of an inch to over one inch of water from rain and slushy snow. Dana Brungardt is holding a grand opening for her "B" Sweet Cupcakes on Saturday, April 16. The new kitchen and outlet are at 425 E. 4th Street in Loveland. It is just across the street from Anthology Book Store. The hours for the grand opening are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there will be cupcakes for sampling and for sale. Crystal Fire Residents with Property Loss Urged to Call

Residents in the Crystal Fire area who lost property are asked to call Larimer County Emergency Manager Erik Nilsson to report their loss.  The number is 970-498-5310.  If the number is busy or there is no answer, they should leave a voicemail message with their contact information. The emergency manager is interested in any property loss, houses, trailers, vehicles, sheds, et cetera.
