Berthoud High School Play Premiers Thursday Night   By Thomas N.   The Berthoud High School drama department will premiere a production of The Wonderful Wizard of OZ on Thursday April 14. The play is an adaptation the book by L. Frank Baum and looks to be a good time with many experienced actors. Sam Schleiger gets “Teacher Tuesday” award

Sam Schleiger, a 2003 graduate of Berthoud High School is now a teacher in nearby Milliken. Schleiger was recently honored by country radio station K99 for the "Teacher Tuesday Award". Brian Gary and Susan Moore from K99 came to Milliken Elementary School where Sam teaches 5th grade and surprised him with the award during an all-school assembly. In the age of abbreviated Twitter messages writing may become a lost art, but some of Berthoud’s youth can still put a sentence together . The Berthoud Schools Fund (BSF) challenged Berthoud students to write about how the technology provided by the money raised at the last two Berthoud Bashes has influenced their education.
