In 1975 Clarence and Mildred sold out to purchase another motel in Smith Center, Kansas and to start an art and framing operation. Clarence enjoyed the new “hobby” of framing and matting artwork while operating the motel until 1984 when they retired to Berthoud, Co where much of their family lived. Clarence had been married to Mildred for 67 years when she died in August 2011.
