Larimer Sheriff: Sept 18 Flood Update
Favorable weather allowed for targeted rescue operations yesterday out the areas of Storm Mountain, Glen Haven at The Retreat, Fish Creek, Idlewild, Waltonia and Pinewood Springs. 81 people were rescued by air and another 33 rescued by ground crews, for a total number of 114 rescued on September 17th. The following information update has been made for: Flooding in Larimer County Despite a delay in getting the helicopters up in the air Monday because of the weather, crews were able to evacuate 420 people yesterday, which include 250 people from the Pinewood Springs area. Weather today is expected to be very good and is allowing for a full day of rescue operations. Larimer County Flood Update: 6/16/2013
Despite the weather on Sunday limiting air evacuations, ground crews were able to rescue and evacuate 100 people in the Cedar Cove area. FEMA brought in two, 80-person search and rescue teams yesterday to assist with operations. The weather is more promising today and tomorrow for air evacuation operations. Evelyn Lure Sandersen August 28, 1922 – October 20, 2012 Evelyn Lure Sandersen died October 20, 2012 at the Sterling House in Longmont. She was 90 years old.
