A report yesterday by the Associated Press confirmed that Representative Cory Gardner (CO-04) faces a highly controversial plan this week to dramatically increase health care costs for Americans age 54 and under. According to the independent Congressional Budget Office, under Republican Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s plan, seniors on Medicare would pay $12,510 per year, making them responsible for more than two thirds of the cost of their coverage, while it would not repeal tax ... Getting to the bottom of 60, 61 and 101

Getting to the bottom of 60, 61 and 101

By Mark Hillman The debate over ballot measures 60, 61 and 101 has been anything but illuminating.  According to the propaganda, voters should: • Vote yes to punish government at all levels for more than $1 billion in higher taxes and fees enacted without a vote of the people by Gov. Ritter and statehouse Democrats. • Or vote no because "The Ugly 3" will trigger a "voter-approved recession" and put thousands of people out of work. Frankly, both of those arguments are overwrought.  ... Full Story

Smith is an Enthusiastic Leader

Smith is an Enthusiastic Leader

Letter to the Edtior I have had the pleasure of working with Justin Smith, candidate for Larimer County Sheriff, on many levels in the community since 1991. As the chief executive of the sheriff’s office, the Sheriff will represent this large agency as it coordinates with the other criminal justice agencies in our county, large and small. To represent the sheriff’s office on an equal footing with other respected agencies, the sheriff must be experienced, educated, and committed to the ... Full Story

Smith is In-Tune to be Sheriff

Smith is In-Tune to be Sheriff

I have been looking at and listening to the candidates for Larimer County Sheriff. Each represent a different political party, but only one clearly stands out from the other. Justin Smith has nearly 20 years of current experience with our sheriff’s office. Because his experience is current, he is in tune with the current state of law enforcement and the criminal justice field. He has both a bachelor’s and a master’s in criminal justice. Justin Smith has the desire and ability to learn as ... Full Story

Senator Kevin Lundberg

Senator Kevin Lundberg has done an outstanding job representing “we the people” in Colorado’s legislature.   He believes that government should never become so big and powerful that it overwhelms our liberties with mandates, taxes, fees and endless bureaucracies.  He fought against the recently enacted car tax, the constitution-defying property tax increase, the elimination of the senior homestead property tax exemption, to name a few.  He has fought to rein in undisciplined spending ... That’s outrageous!

That’s outrageous!

That's outrageous! The claims made against Senator Kevin Lundberg by 21st Century Colorado, an arm of ActBlue, "the online clearinghouse for Democratic action," in six recent mailings, would have us believe that instead of being a caring, principled family man and state senator, Kevin is a monster better suited to scare us to death at a local haunted house later this month. But each mailing is based on a complete misrepresentation of Kevin and distortions and lies regarding his voting ... Full Story
