Berthoud Clean-Up day is May 15
PRESS RELEASE The Town of Berthoud has scheduled Clean-Up Day for Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Turner Middle School parking lot. Items can be dropped off starting at 8:00 a.m. We will accept items until 1:00 p.m. or until the dumpsters are full, whichever occurs first. There are several changes to Clean-Up Day this year. Limiting Berthoud Volunteer Membership?
There are some opinions blowing around Berthoud these days that claim the town needs a voted ordinance that would require a volunteer to have a primary residence within town limits for a year in order to serve on any advisory board or commission, period. I’m worried about this for several reasons. While some statutory requirements exist for commissions such as Planning and Zoning, there are none for other commissions. Denkai Animal Sanctuary appeal for help
Denkai Animal Sanctuary is asking the general public for immediate assistance. We have until May 27th, according to the State Veterinarian’s PACFA office paperwork, to bring our 30 year old building up to code. Since Denkai took over the former K-9 Bed & Biscuit facility and all if it’s rescue animals, not only have we been faced with renovating a 30 year old building per our State Veterinarian guidelines, we have also been working non-stop to find homes for the original 60 or so ... Workforce Center To Assist Youth Looking For Summer
The Larimer County Workforce Center, in conjunction with the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt, will once again assist youth looking for summer employment. The Governor’s Summer Job hunt, now in its 30th year, matches young people’s skills and interests with employment opportunities. Last year, the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt assisted almost 53,000 young people statewide between the ages of 14 and 21 to find summer jobs. Volunteer rangers needed on the Ranger Boat
Larimer County Natural Resources boat rangers have created an opportunity for Larimer County residents to assist at both Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoir. Boat rangers educate visitors about regulations, safety, and help with emergencies out on the reservoirs. Boat Ranger volunteers must be able to swim, be willing to work a five hour shift on the boat (option for longer shifts), and have some experience either with boats or law enforcement as well as great customer service ...
