Each year the joint team of Thompson School District, McKee Medical Center and the City of Loveland host a special event to honor volunteers who make a difference. teachers for Thompson School District arrived at Mountain View High High School for a day of orientation on Thursday. The morning began with an introduction to the Thompson Education Association, the local teacher’s union and continued with district staff. That was the theme for the Ivy Stockwell First Grade Showcase on Thursday night. For the parents the program started of with the musical performance of numbers like Shakey Shakey Egg, Puddle Hoppin’ and Worms. Music and Movement Director Mark Johnson had the kids hopping and jumping with these songs and it looked like they loved it. Odyssey of the Mind, it’s Elementary

Both elementary schools in Berthoud had teams performing in the Division I category in the Odyssey of the Mind Long’s Peak Tournament this weekend. Berthoud Elementary School The team from Berthoud Elementary, chose the Nature Trail’R, a NASA sponsored problem. The “Trail”R” refers to a trail and a trailer that are included in the problem. The Ivy Stockwell Second Grade Showcase performance on Thursday night was Something’s Musical, with singers, dancers and instruments directed by Mr. Bill Hordinski. While these showcases are a delight to the parents and grandparents, the main idea is to teach the students something valuable.
