Fire Report: Feb. 19, 2009
Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 BFPD responded to Windermere Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival a grass fire was found up against a barn as well as many small fires throughout the surrounding fields east of the residence. Loveland Fire also responded and helped extinguish spot fires east of the area. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Feb 2-8 Feb. 2, 2009- BFPD responded to E. Highway 56 to assist with a controlled burn. Feb. 2, 2009- BFPD assisted with a walk-in patient who had accidentally cut his left hand/wrist area. When TVEMS arrived the patient was loaded for transport. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire located on Weld County Road 7 and E. Highway 56. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 BFPD responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The fire was extinguished before reaching the passenger compartment. There were no injuries. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Jan 19-25 Monday, Jan.19, 2009 BFPD responded to a grass/wildland fire west of U.S. Hwy 287 and north of County Road 6. This was a 10- to 12-acre fire that was quickly contained due to the efforts of Berthoud, Longmont, Hygiene and Mountain View fire departments. One structure received heat damage. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Jan 12-18 Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for seizures. The patient was transported. BFPD was called to investigate a gas odor on Maple Dr. This was coming from the gas fireplace. The crew advised the owners to have their fireplace professionally inspected. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 BFPD responded to I-25 and E. Hwy 56 for a small grass fire. This was approximately a 5-foot x 5-foot grass fire with minimal flame lengths. BFPD responded to a reported structure fire, which was actually a controlled burn. BFPD responded to a medical call on Second St. for an allergic reaction. Incident Activity for Dec. 29-Jan. 4 Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 BFPD responded to the area of N. 83rd St. and Yellowstone Road for a mutual aid request from Hygiene Fire District for a fast moving grass fire. They arrived on scene and worked with Hygiene to extinguish the fire. BFPD responded to a reported power line down in the area of Turner Middle School. Upon arrival there was heavy smoke coming from the roof. Loveland Fire was called for assistance. The fire was extinguished and was thoroughly checked for further hot spots in the structure.
