School Board honors Breitbarth’s service to
Wednesday’s Thompson Board of Education meeting began on a very special note. Quite apparent was the empty chair where Dennis Brietbarth normally sat. Also noticeable was the single rose, placed there by members of the Thompson Education Association. Seeing the head of the teacher’s union with tears in her eyes over the loss of a school board member speaks volumes about the man and his relationship with the teachers of the Thompson School District. School Board member Dennis Brietbarth passes away
I received the following press release from Thompson School District this morning. I am deeply saddened by the loss. Dennis and I served together on the McKee Foundation board and we always visited at the meetings and at the Board of Education meetings. He was dedicated to public service and his passing is a great loss to the community and to me personally. New teachers sit in class today
teachers for Thompson School District arrived at Mountain View High High School for a day of orientation on Thursday. The morning began with an introduction to the Thompson Education Association, the local teacher’s union and continued with district staff. Berthoud will be getting ten new teachers and a part time school nurse this year. New Principal at Conrad Ball Middle School
Scott Elias, assistant principal at Loveland High School, has been named interim principal at Conrad Ball Middle School. He is filling in for Sheila Pottorff, who will be interim director of Secondary Education for the 2010-2011 school year. Elias came to Thompson School District and LHS in 2007. Prior to that he was assistant principal at Greeley West High School. He received his master’s in educational leadership in 2003. Pottorff has been principal at Conrad Ball since the 2007-2008 ... Berthoud High School Graduation 2010
There was a chill in the air and the wind was blowing a bit, but the Berthoud High School graduation ceremony was blessed with a bright sunny day, matched the attitude of the graduates and their families. The graduates make their walk from the school building to the stadium. New this year was the addition of teachers in the procession. The BHS Evening with the Arts The annual Evening with the arts was an exciting event with much to do. The Gymnasium was the center for the displayed visual arts while the other entertainment took place in he commons and the auditorium. Many of he displays are just that, displays of work done in class by sixth though twelfth graders.
