Obituary: Frances Kramer

Frances “Fran” Kramer of Loveland died March 21, 2009 at Loveland Good Samaritan Village. She was 90 years old. She was born June 10, 1918 in Chicago, Ill. to Edward and Lena (Sweiter) Schlief. She married George Kramer on June 15, 1936 in Crown Point, Ind. George Kramer passed in 1988. The couple lived in the Denver area for a while, then moved to Homestead, Fla. where the lived for 20 years. They lived in Cody, Wyo. from 1989 to 1993; and have resided in Loveland for the past 16 ... Full Story

Rare Find: Mink

Ken Locke of Berthoud examines what he believes is a dead mink he discovered near the west edge of Highway 287. Locke said he worked at a mink farm in Connecticut when he was a teenager and felt pretty confident in his identification. At 23 inches long and three pounds, the animal fits the size description listed on the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) for an adult male mink. Elizabeth Katherine “Betty” Rose, 82, of Berthoud passed away quietly at her home on Friday, March 13, 2009. Survivors include her husband, Russell F. Michelle “Shelley” Fries, 43, of Berthoud, passed away at her home on March 3, 2009 with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 22, 1965 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Jerry T. and Judy J. (Greig) Fries. The Fries family moved to Berthoud in 1974. She graduated from Berthoud High School in 1983, and then summa cum laude from CSU with a degree in restaurant management. Mobleys to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Lloyd and Linda Mobley will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Feb. 19, 2009. They met at Azars Big Boy Restaurant in Denver where they both worked. Francis James Brandt, 89, of Berthoud, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 in Loveland, Colo. Brandt was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Moline, IL, to Frank and Anna Brandt and had a younger brother, George.
