    September 1 - 4 Thursday, Sept. 1 Citizens assist in the 500 block of Kansas Avenue for a woman who needed a ring removed. Engine 61 removed the ring with a rotary tool. Engine 61 responded to the 2000 block of Nicholson Street for a 60-year-old man who had fallen and was bleeding from the head. The crew arrived and found TVEMS already on scene providing care. September 1 - 4 Thursday, September 1 Fraud / Suspicious Circumstances: Mountain Avenue, a credit union called and stated a young girl lost her wallet in Longmont, and someone used her debit card. Later that same day a man called the credit union and stated he found this girls wallet and wanted her information to meet with her. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee, 17-year-old Steven Berger died of his injuries on Thursday. A memorial service was held at the Five Stones center on Thursday evening. Study Finds Stricter Gun Laws Mean Fewer Fatalities

  By Allison Brito A study released last week by JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association): Internal Medicine shows a direct correlation between gun laws and gun-related fatalities. While the study is mainly based on the number of gun laws, not the type (it doesn’t, for example, specify which particular laws are the most effective), it confirms that generally speaking, stricter gun laws result in fewer deaths. Weld County Road 1 is closed from Highway 119 to Quicksilver Road. The Road will be closed for 24 hours. At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, Larimer County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of North County Road 7 and Aldridge Road on the report of a plane crash.  Upon arrival deputies discovered a glider crashed into the side of a hill in a ravine.  There was one occupant in the glider, a male in his late 70's or early 80's who was deceased. Update June 4. The investigating officers of the Colorado State Patrol have concluded that the pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lane in front of the empty cement truck. The driver of the pickup was Travis McPherson, 20, of Loveland. The driver of the cement truck was Edward Brown, 59, of Johnstown. Brown suffered a broken rib in the accident.
