Coffman Statement on Gitmo Visit
(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) released the following statement upon returning to Washington, D.C. from an official one-day visit to the Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba: “On Tuesday the military flew me down to Guantanamo to see the detention facility where some of the most dangerous terrorists, such as the 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, are held,” said Coffman. “I found their treatment more than humane and see no reason to close the facility. Yet those six minutes, most especially the final 36 seconds, proved decisive for Berthoud as they topped the Cornerstone Christian Bulldogs 2-1 at Max Marr Field.
