Obituary: Melissa Klepac Golay

Melissa Klepac Golay, 49, passed away due to cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. She was a 1978 graduate of Berthoud High School. Golay is survived by her husband Troy; daughters Jessica and Jennifer; son Benjamin, 8; grandchildren, and parents Ben and Mary Jane; and sister Janet. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Platteville Recreation Center, 508 Reynolds Ave., Platteville. Police Beat: Oct. 15, 2009

Tuesday, Oct. 6 Police responded to suspicious activity at the First Baptist Church on Bunyan Ave. but found no criminal violation. Several warnings and one summons were issued after traffic stops. An officer responded to the report that five kids were tearing up the basketball hoop at the First United Methodist Church. The officer reported that he found no signs of vandalism. Berthoud High grad Yannutz wills way to Ironman finish

Obituary: Gilbert A. Perry

Gilbert A. Perry passed away peacefully at his Berthoud home Oct. 12, 2009. He was born in Hyannis, Mass., on July 19, 1927. Early schooling was in Harwich, Mass. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston and served in the Coast Guard. Perry married his high school sweetheart, Naomi Ruth Allen in 1948 and died exactly 68 years later on the anniversary of the day they met. They moved to Colorado in 1953. Berthoud and state’s firefighters memorialize fallen

Berthoud Fire Protection District, along with fire stations and government buildings across the state, lowered their U.S. and state flags to half-mast Sunday in observance of the 28th annual National Firefighters Memorial Service. A moment of silence was taken by those on duty at both Berthoud Fire stations, honoring their brothers and sisters who died in the line of duty. (more…)

Tinney family update

Tuesday morning we received news that Ian Tinney’s wife Laurel had broken her leg and is now in the Longmont United Hospital after undergoing surgery Wednesday. The Berthoud Recorder is asking the community to help. (more…)
