Obituary Michael S. Patterson

Michael S. Patterson, 60, of Berthoud, Colorado died January 28, 2010 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born April 14, 1949 in Sheridan, Wyo. to Edward and Virginia (Wood) Patterson. Michael married Rena’ Laubach on September 15, 1972 in Wolf Point, Mont. They moved to Berthoud in 1974. Michael was a superintendent for Swinerton Builders of Denver. He was a team roper, hunter and fisherman, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, ... Full Story

“Cow Dung Dust”

“Cow Dung Dust,” is Rick Padden’s latest play. Padden is the playwright for Berthoud’s newest theater venture, The Moon Theater Company, and will perform a staged reading of his new play at the Berthoud Foursquare Church this Evening. The play is about a group of hitchhikers who get a ride in the back of a cattle truck driving along Route 66. The reading is at 7 p.m., Friday, February 5. The admission charge is $5.

These Canada Geese made a rest stop at the Wagner Farm Park on Monday morning. Berthoud lies along the Central Flyway, a migratory route for the geese. This flock consists of early migrators flying north following the melting snowline. Their destination is the nesting grounds in Canada. These hardy travelers travel by day or night and land to feed and rest at familiar places along the route. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for January 2010 Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 BFPD responded to a propane leak in a structure on So. County Road 31. The resident owner was not on scene. The fire crew searched the property and determined there were no hazards present.
