Incident Activity for March 2-8 Monday, March 2, 2009 BFPD reported to a wildland grass fire on WCR 8 and NCR 23 for an uncontrolled burn. Upon arrival, crews found a ditch that had been burning and was now extinguished. The owners were extinguishing the fire after learning there was a red flag warning for the day due to high winds. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Feb. 23-Mar. 1 Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 BFPD responded to a medical call on Indiana Ave. for a person complaining of breathing problems. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Feb. 16-22 Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 BFPD responded to a structure fire on Schultz Lane. The fire started around the exhaust piping system inside the wall between the living room and master bedroom. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire Report: Feb. 19, 2009

Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 BFPD responded to Windermere Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival a grass fire was found up against a barn as well as many small fires throughout the surrounding fields east of the residence. Loveland Fire also responded and helped extinguish spot fires east of the area. Feb. 2, 2009- BFPD assisted with a walk-in patient who had accidentally cut his left hand/wrist area. When TVEMS arrived the patient was loaded for transport. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 BFPD responded to a reported vehicle fire located on Weld County Road 7 and E. Highway 56.  Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 BFPD responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The fire was extinguished before reaching the passenger compartment. There were no injuries. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Jan 19-25 Monday, Jan.19, 2009 BFPD responded to a grass/wildland fire west of U.S. Hwy 287 and north of County Road 6.  This was a 10- to 12-acre fire that was quickly contained due to the efforts of Berthoud, Longmont, Hygiene and Mountain View fire departments. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Jan 12-18 Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for seizures. The patient was transported. BFPD was called to investigate a gas odor on Maple Dr. This was coming from the gas fireplace. The crew advised the owners to have their fireplace professionally inspected. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 BFPD responded to I-25 and E. Hwy 56 for a small grass fire. This was approximately a 5-foot x 5-foot grass fire with minimal flame lengths. BFPD responded to a reported structure fire, which was actually a controlled burn. BFPD responded to a medical call on Second St. for an allergic reaction. Incident Activity for Dec. 29-Jan. 4 Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 BFPD responded to the area of N. 83rd St. and Yellowstone Road for a mutual aid request from Hygiene Fire District for a fast moving grass fire. They arrived on scene and worked with Hygiene to extinguish the fire. BFPD responded to a reported power line down in the area of Turner Middle School.  Upon arrival they found a power pole that was leaning from the high winds.  Xcel Energy was notified and responded.
