Fire Beat: July 2, 2009

Monday, June 22

  • BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Rainbow Lane. After investigation the crew was unable to locate a fire.
  • BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on South County Road 31. No no injuries were involved in this accident.
  • BFPD assisted with a medical call for breathing problems at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, June 23

  • BFPD was dispatched to a grass fire on the frontage road of Interstate 25. Upon arrival to the scene the crew extinguished the flames burning in two foot tall grass. 

Wednesday, June 24

  • BFPD assisted Johnstown Fire with a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 frontage road. This was a three-vehicle accident and one patient was transported.
  • BFPD responded to a grass fire near Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. This was a low slow moving fire, approximately 100 feet by 20 feet. The fire was extinguished. 
  • BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250 on the west side of the interstate. This was determined to be a controlled agricultural burn.

Thursday, June 25

  • BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a patient having breathing problems. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD assisted with a medical call on Second Street. for abdominal pain. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on East Highway 60 for a one-year-old child who had fallen and was unconscious for a short period of time. 
  • BFPD was notified of a commercial dumpster fire within 20 feet from a structure. The fire was extinguished and it was determined that the fire was caused by spontaneous combustion from rags which had been used to finish cabinets.

Friday, June 26

  • BFPD assisted Mountain View Fire and Longmont Fire with an extrication in a three vehicle accident on Highway 287 and Vermillion Road. One patient was transported.

Saturday, June 27

  • BFPD assisted TVEMS on north First Street for a patient having chest pain. The patient was transported.

Sunday, June 28

  • BFPD assisted with a medical call on Third Street. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD assisted with a medical call on Highway 60 & Weld County Road 7 for a person having seizures. The patient was transported.
  • BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on East Highway 60. The patient was transported.
