Big Inning Lifts Falcon Baseball Past Portland 12-4
March 18, 2011 USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - A seven-run fifth inning highlighted Air Force baseball’s 12-4 win over Portland Friday afternoon at Falcon Field. The win lifted the Falcons to 8-10 on the season and dropped the Pilots to 8-7. Trailing 4-2, the Falcons batted around in the fifth, racking up five hits and seven runs to jump ahead 9-4. Falcons split Wednesday doubleheader with Creighton
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force baseball split a doubleheader with Creighton Wednesday at Falcon Field. The Falcons (7-10) took game one, 2-1, while the Blue Jays (13-4) took game two 11-9. In game one, the Falcons rallied back from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the seventh to pull out the win. Nathan Carter tied the game with an RBI single then scored the winning run on a throwing error by the Creighton second baseman on a grounder by Jon McMahon. Berthoud 11 and under baseball takes silver in league
The Berthoud 11 and under baseball team finished their regular season strong by beating the Lafayette Warriors (12-9) on the Warriors home turf. The Lafayette team had only lost three games all season. Coach Dave Overholt said, “We carried that momentum into the year end league tournament going 1 and 1 the first day.
