Moose near Johnson’s Corner on the Summer Solstice

Obituary: Margaret (Sterkel) Ibsen
Mrs. Margaret Ruth (Sterkel) Ibsen, 92, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010. Born in Berthoud, Colorado on February 27, 1918, she was a self-taught seamstress. In her later years, she enjoyed working as a nanny. Upon the death of a younger sister, she became guardian of two nephews and a niece. Berthoud board extends medical marijuana moritorium
Berthoud Board of Trustees had a full agenda for the June 15 meeting. Medical marijuana was eleventh on the agenda, but two business asked to speak during the Citizen Participation. Both wanted to be exempted from the moratorium and be allowed to open for business before July 1. Both had obtained a town sales tax license before the moratorium went into effect. Pelicans stop at Foster Reservoir
With water storage at record levels and a high spring runoff, even Foster and Coleman Reservoirs west of Berthoud have abundant water for the first time in years. These iternerant pelicans took advantage of that and stopped for a little fishing at Foster last Wednesday.
