Aaron Schneekloth scored twice for Colorado, including the game-winner, re-claiming his position as the ECHL's leading scorer among defensemen. Berthoud Boys Basketball Team Routs Highland
Spartans Top Huskies 67-45 By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer Even in the world of sports, bigger does not always mean better. The Berthoud and Highland boys high school basketball teams learned that fact on Tuesday evening as the Spartans routed the Huskies 67-45. Even before the opening tipoff, Highland appeared to have a significant advantage in the game thanks to having trio of players who measure in at 6’4” or taller, including 6’7” senior Kyle Stuehm. In contrast, ... Full Story

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Colorado Eagles, 6-2, taking the third game in four nights this week at the Budweiser Events Center. Steve Haddon took advantage of fortunate bounces in getting both of Colorado's goals, while five different Wranglers found the back of the net. The teams played an even first period that saw each register nine shots on goal, but the Wranglers were able to get one of theirs past Kyle Jones to take a 1-0 lead into the first ... Full Story
Las Vegas Deals Eagles’ First Home Shutout in
LOVELAND, Colo. - The Las Vegas Wranglers blanked the Colorado Eagles, 5-0, handing them their first home shutout in the ECHL & just their second at home in team history. Joe Fallon stopped 26 shots, netting his league-leading 22nd win in the process, as the 2nd-place Wranglers (27-13-4, 58 pts.) were too much for a depleted Eagles lineup (just 14 skaters) in the second game of this week's three-game set between the squads. The teams played an even first frame in terms of chances & ... Full Story

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Las Vegas Wranglers edged the Colorado Eagles, 3-2, with a goal in the final minute of overtime. Eric Lampe -- the ECHL's leading goal scorer -- notched both of the Wranglers' regulation goals as he continued his personal success against Colorado (21 points in seven games). Andrew Penner stonewalled the Wranglers in the first half of the opening period, moving from his right to left to stop Lampe on a back-door feed seven minutes in. Then two minutes later, he ... Eagles Split Series, Ontario Reigns 4-2 in Victory
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Colorado Eagles fell, 2-4, to the Ontario Reign, splitting their weekend series at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Ontario scored the game's first three goals before the game's mid-point, giving them all they would need as four different players in all put the puck past Colorado's Kyle Jones. The home team dominated the first portion of the opening period, out-shooting Colorado, 11-2, early on and striking first when Bill Bagron found the back of the net just 4:20 ... Full Story

Brush Takes The Broom To Berthoud Basketball
Boys and Girls Teams Lose to Beetdiggers By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud High boys basketball team had no trouble finding the rim in their Friday night game with the Brush Beetdiggers. Getting the ball through the net for points, however, was a different story. The Spartans lost 48-42 to their 3A Patriot League rivals thanks in large part to a dismal 14-for-58 shooting effort. The loss drops Berthoud to 6-5 on the season with a 2-2 mark in conference play. The ... Full Story
