Boys team Finishes in Sixth Place By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud girls track and field team continued their outstanding 2011 season at the Patriot League Championships hosted at Platte Valley High School on Friday afternoon. The Lady Spartans took first place in team competition with 152.50 points, winning six separate events. The boys team finished in the middle of the pack in sixth place after tallying 60.50 points. The Berthoud Girls Soccer team was eliminated from the playoffs by Alexander Dawson. The Mustangs were  seeded #14 and defeated the #19 Spartans by a score of 7 -0.   Friday evening was full of activity at Berthoud High School. It was an evening of art and entertainment with something for everyone. Some of the students were also very busy with several appearing in more than one show. The gymnasium was the showcase for visual arts while both stages were in use for the music and dramatic arts. Spartans Top Cornerstone Christian 2-1 By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer In 80 minutes of soccer on Tuesday evening the Lady Spartans held the lead for only 6:03. Yet those six minutes, most especially the final 36 seconds, proved decisive for Berthoud as they topped the Cornerstone Christian Bulldogs 2-1 at Max Marr Field.
