Entrance to King Tut's tomb discovered British archaeologist Howard Carter and his workmen discover a step leading to the tomb of King Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. When Carter first arrived in Egypt in 1891, most of the ancient Egyptian tombs had been discovered, though the little-known King Tutankhamen, who had died when he was 18, was still unaccounted for. To the Editor, I watched in amazement as the young people of Egypt peacefully arose to overturn their country’s dictatorship. They revolted against a system ruled by an elite few, where all the wealth flowed upward, and ordinary people had no opportunity to progress, no matter how bright, skilled or educated they might be.
