teachers for Thompson School District arrived at Mountain View High High School for a day of orientation on Thursday. The morning began with an introduction to the Thompson Education Association, the local teacher’s union and continued with district staff. TMS Fire Choir at AARP
The Turner Middle School show choir, the Fire Choir, joined the local chapter of the AARP for a pot luck supper on Wednesday evening and then put on a wonderful show for the gathered senior citizens. No story, just a great bunch of kids.
Arts for the eye, the ear and the mind
The BHS Evening with the Arts The annual Evening with the arts was an exciting event with much to do. The Gymnasium was the center for the displayed visual arts while the other entertainment took place in he commons and the auditorium. Many of he displays are just that, displays of work done in class by sixth though twelfth graders. May 3 to May 7 is Teacher Appreciation Week. The Thompson School District has several events that show teacher appreciation. Last week, the Thompson Education Association’s Crystal Apple Awards recognized some of the district’s outstanding teachers as nominated by their colleagues in the profession. Turner Middle School places third at state Odyssey
The Turner Middle School Odyssey of the Mind team missed the Long's Peak Turnament at Berthoud High School, but managed to qualify for the state level by attending another district's competition. The team of Nicole Silvers, Charles Walkes, Olivia Conde and Olivia Eppler is coached by Barry Eppler. They chose to do he Nature Trail'r long term problem. Berthoud Schools Fund – the next step
Now that the Berthoud Bash is over, here are the next steps as described by Scott Cavey "After we get all the bills paid we will determine the net amount of money available to purchase technology items with. In the meantime we asked the principals last fall to tell us their key needs in the education arena for their school. 8th Grade Varsity winning 33-18 The 8th Grade Junior Varsity winning 27 to 14 7th Grade Varsity won winning 22 to 8 The 7th Grade Junior Varsity losing 9 to 24.
