Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies By Wendy Kenner May 2, 2014 Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies Level 7 team competed at the 2014 Region 3 Level 7 Championships on April 25-27. This meet was held in Galveston, Texas, and it was a qualifying meet. The gymnasts had to have a qualifying score at their State Meet in order to be invited to compete at the Regional Meet. Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies By Wendy Kenner April 15, 2014 Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies Xcel Team competed in the 2014 Flatirons Spring Flipz Xcel Gymnastics Meet. This meet was their season opener, and it was held on April 12-13. There were several top five individual placements. Cheylynne Duba and Candence Lapp tied for 4th on Vault. Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies By Wendy Kenner 4/15/2014 Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies hosted the Region 3 Level 8 Gymnastics Meet on April 4 through April 6. It was held at Loveland High School. Teams from 8 different states from around the Region competed in the three day event. The gymnasts competing in this meet had to qualify at their state meets in order to be eligible to compete. Obituary: Peter Eric Van Kleek
Peter Eric Van Kleek, 85, of Berthoud, died on March 18, 2014 at Broomfield Skilled Facility in Broomfield. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1929 to John Raymond and Joan (Hill) Van Kleek. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Peter graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a degree in Hotel Management. He married Barbara Jane King in June of 1954. By Wendy Kenner Premier Gymnastics of the Rockies Optional team traveled to St. Paul, Minnesota February 28 through March 2, 2014 to compete in the Northern Lights Gymnastics Meet. The Level 7 team placed 4th in the team competition. The Level 8 team placed 3rd in the team competition. There were several top 5 individual placements. Lenora Strachan, 81, of Berthoud, died on March 3, 2014 at her home in Berthoud. She was born on March 8, 1932 in Erick, Oklahoma to Wit Wiley and Beulah (Wells) Warren. Lenora graduated from high school in Porterville, California She married Richard D. Strachan on December 23, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas. Lenora worked as a homemaker, but also had short careers as a telephone operator and a pharmacy clerk, where she also managed a soda fountain. She has lived in Berthoud since 1970. She had ... Dean G. Anderson, 83, of Berthoud, Colorado, died on February 22, 2014 at home. He was born on June 23, 1930 in Loveland, to Edwin Swan and Helen Josephine (Peterson) Anderson. Dean graduated from Loveland High School in 1948 and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He married Betty Jo Janssen on September 15, 1950 in Loveland. Fort Collins man sentenced for mortgage fraud
Sysum sentenced to five years in mortgage fraud Greeley, CO – A Fort Collins man convicted in a mortgage fraud scheme was sentenced in Weld County District Court on Wednesday to five years in prison. A jury in December convicted Matthew Sysum (DOB: 08/13/1969) of seven counts of Forgery, a Class 5 felony, and one count of Theft, a Class 3 felony. The scouts have been selling cookies since 1917 and here at the Wamsley house I am proud that we have had 3 generations of Girl Scouts who have participated in this program. The profits from the cookie sales help pay for scouting activities and teaches the girls life long business skills.
