Tuesday, June 2 A woman doing her morning shopping at Hays Market left her purse in the shopping cart and it was gone when she returned to get it. Dispatch received a late evening call from a man with questions about bees. Wednesday, June 3 A Keep Circle resident reported a male on a dirt bike who rides in the area at high speed and does wheelies. Tuesday, May 26 A neighbor called to report that the house on Greenwood Avenue that has been the subject of an arson investigation has weeds, broken windows and the boarded-up back door had gaps. Noxious weeds ready to bloom in the 900 block of Mountain Avenue were the subject of a complaint for the Code Enforcement Officer. Tuesday, May 19 The two door-to-door Kirby vacuum saleswomen were gone from Pyramid Peak Street when police arrived. An after-hours call from the 600 block of Bristlecone Court advised of a flood in the backyard and bubbling along the property line. The caller believed it to be sewer water. Dispatch notified the appropriate Town department. Tuesday, May 12 Four dogs were reported running loose near Fourth Street and Capital Avenue at 8:37 a.m. In the early afternoon, a caller on Sage Place reported a dog escaping from their yard into another yard and then disappearing. A local business owner called to complain about people using the business’s dumpster. Using the vehicle license number, the police contacted the owner and were told the Cub Scouts had done a cleanup and picked up trash all over Town and put it in that dumpster. ... Full Story

Tuesday, May 5 Police made 10 traffic stops during the day, responded to juveniles hanging out behind the Pizza Hut all day. The CEO also tried to capture two dogs running loose on Highway 56 just east of First Street. The dogs belonged at 110 Welch Ave and the owner was cited for dogs at large. Wednesday, May 6 Police had to tell juveniles on skateboards to leave the school grounds at Berthoud Elementary and soon after that the officer contacted more juveniles at Fickel Park and told them ... Tuesday, April 28 A resident near Seventh Street and Capitol Avenue reported seeing two men nearby looking through the scope on a large gun. He said it was as large as a rifle, but was not a rifle. The officer met with the caller and waited in his yard for some time, but saw nothing. A motorist called to complain about a white van parked at Spartan Avenue and County Road 17. Tuesday, April 21 A woman reported a suspicious car near Town Park. The officer found a man who was early for an appointment and had stopped to talk on his cell phone. A vehicle ran into a pole at the A&W Restaurant. The only damage was to the car so the driver opted not to file a report. Wednesday, April 22 A call about a yellow Labrador retriever in the yard near Third Street and Mountain Avenue was cancelled when the owner picked up the dog two minutes later. Tuesday, April 14 The Boulder County Sheriff’s department found some property near Ish Reservoir that may be connected to the burglary at the Habitat Thrift Store. Lots of people and loud music on S. Third Street at 9 p.m. caused a nearby resident to complain to the police that the party had just started and may get out of hand. Tuesday, April 7 A man came into the police department to report his unit at Berthoud Self Storage had been broken into. He produced the loop part of his lock which had been cut off. Eight to 10 packing blankets were taken from the site. There are no suspects at this time. The parents of a Berthoud Elementary School student reported that an unknown male tried to talk their son into getting in to his car. The boy refused the offer. Police gave a verbal warning to some juveniles who were using the tennis net at Fickel Park as a trampoline. Wednesday, April 1 A resident of south Ninth Street reported that a thirty-something, bearded male wearing dirty jeans had approached his daughter on the previous day.
