  Dorothy Irene (Landolt) Burch, 91, of Mead, died July 4, 2011 at her home. Dorothy was born May 14, 1920 in Longmont, Colorado, the daughter of Melchoir and Maria Brigitha (Caderas) Landolt. She graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic High School. On November 27, 1945 she married Robert Burch at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont.  They resided all their married life of 62 years on a farm near Mead. Julian Lujan Huerta of Berthoud, Colorado died June 17, 2011, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 77 years of age. He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Berthoud, to Gregorio Aguilar Huerta and Natalia Lujan. He graduated from Berthoud High School in 1953 and then served in the U.S. Army. He was first married to Twylah Claudette Seguine.   Berthoud Police Beat — April/May, 2011   Friday, April 1 Police came across an abandoned vehicle on Highway 56 near I-25 at 12:52 a.m. The vehicle appeared to be inoperative. The Joe to Go building was shot with paint balls sometime during the previous night. A public meeting will be held to address bullying and suicide prevention in the Berthoud schools following a recent suicide. In attendance will be regional bullying and suicide prevention experts and concerned citizens.  School administrators and members of the local and surrounding police departments have been invited. Harmon arrested in Johnstown

The Larimer County Sheriff's Department is reporting Berthoud police have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery in Laramie, Wyoming.  The sheriff's department says 22 year old Rayburn Scott Harmon was arrested in Johnstown without incident. Harmon was wanted for an alleged robbery in Laramie and and was also accused of stealing a 2006 Cadillac Escalade that he reported sinking into Carter Lake last Monday after he had taken it for a test drive from a Berthoud auto ...
