October 1 - 3 Friday, October 1 Criminal Mischief/Violation of Protection Order: 3rd Street - Female reported that a male, whom she is protected from, backed into her fence with a vehicle after a verbal argument. The vehicle then fled the scene before deputies arrived. The female declined to pursue charges for the damaged fence. Wilson 92, of Berthoud, Colorado passed away on October 13, 2021 in Loveland.  He was born on August 31, 1929 in Boulder, to Charles W. and Iva Lorene (Martindale) Wilson. On October 12th 1947 he married Bettie J. Schleiger in Campion. They lived in the Berthoud area their entire lives, living at the old Berthoud Homestead south of Berthoud since the early 1950’s.   Betty Lou Greene   May 30, 1922 - August 22, 2021   Betty Lou Greene was born on May 30, 1922 in LaCygne, Kansas to Madge Brooks and Bill Sappington. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Madge and Bill Helm, with help from her beloved maternal grandparents, Maude and Thomas Brooks. A resident reported someone ran into his truck causing damage to his truck and pushing it into a van causing more damage. Fire destroys home west of Berthoud

          Photos by Berthoud Fire Protection District                             Berthoud Fire responded to structure fire early Thursday morning. By the time they arrived, the first responders found the home heavily involved. Five people were confirmed to have safely evacuated the home and were not injured. The home in the 3000 block of West County Road 8 was substantially damaged.

  Betty J. Anderson, 90, of Berthoud, went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2021. She was born on February 1, 1931 in Brady, Nebraska to Carl and Gloe Janssen. Betty's family moved to Loveland when she was in junior high. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1949 before attending nursing school. She married Dean Anderson on September 15, 1950 in Loveland. Together they had two children - Steven and Laurie. Betty was one of the hardest working women you'd ever meet. She worked as a ...               Karl A. Gruber of Berthoud Colorado, went home to his Lord on March 3, 2021. Karl was born in Morristown, New Jersey, but did his growing up in Pleasantville, New York. He graduated from Princeton University with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1950. Karl went on to become a Wycliffe Bible translator, and worked as a pilot for Wycliffe in Alaska for a short period of time.
