'Shop of Horrors' Draws Rave Reviews

The Berthoud High School musical, “The Little Shop of Horrors” was a tremendous success with over 800 people attending the four performances. Cast members’ stellar performances kept audiences laughing and applauding throughout the show and the musical abilities of the young people were remarkable. The final number, “Don’t Feed the Plant,” surprised and thrilled the audience as the entire cast took to the stage and the auditorium floor dressed as zombies, mummies and ghouls ... Full Story

First Medallion Set in Place

A creative addition to the downtown streetscape project, the first medallion is now in place at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Second Street. One of 14 medallions to be placed in the bulb-outs along the street, they will be surrounded by colored concrete when work is completed on them. The medallion design created by artist Rafe Ropek was inspired by former Berthoud blacksmith A.G. Bimson whose building is now used as the Little Thompson Valley Museum. Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity for Oct 27 – Nov. 2 Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 BFPD responded to a medical call on Caballero St. The patient was complaining of back pain and was transported.   Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 BFPD assisted with a medical call on Alpine Sky. Police Beat — Nov. 6, 2008

Tuesday, Oct. 28 Police stopped a car shortly before 1 a.m. for running a stop sign. The driver was intoxicated and refused to take the tests. He was taken into custody without incident, but kicked the officer in the chest while he was buckling the offender’s seat belt and left a footprint on his uniform shirt. The driver was taken to the Larimer County Detention Center (LCDC) and charged with failing to stop, driving under the influence and 3rd Degree assault. A vehicle was entered in the ... Full Story
