Sheriff to speak at Berthoud AARP

Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith will be the speaker at the Berthoud AARP meeting on Wednesday, Octover 12. The program will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. following the chapters pot luck supper. The public is invited to come listen to the sheriff. The topics will include the operation of the Larimer County Jail and the proposed sales tax extension to support jail operation.   Issue 1A on the ballot gets a thumbs up from me. Government was instituted to provide protection to the citizens.  The Sheriff’s Office and the County Jail deputies have been doing that quite well in recent years.  The sales tax that funds a significant portion of the jail expires very soon.
