December 1 - 3 Friday, December 1 Burglary/Vehicle Theft: 2nd Street - A man entered a business around 05:30 hours in the morning with a key to the front door. The suspect broke down one door inside and stole a 2017 orange Ford Escape. The stolen Escape has a “Blast From the Past” placard on the front plate and no plate on the rear. November 1 - 5 Wednesday, Nov. 1 Engine 62 was dispatched to the Berthoud Care and Rehab for a medical. Engine 62 responded to the 400 block of Lakritz Street for a lift assist. November 1 - 5 Wednesday, November 1 Motor Vehicle Theft/Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft: Woodcock Street - Two unknown suspects stole a 2017 white Kia Sportage after arriving in another, likely stolen, white Kia Sorento with stolen plates affixed. A second Kia in the parking lot had its door lock punched likely to steal it as well. This investigation is ongoing. October 2 - 8 Monday, Oct. 2 Engine 61 responded to South Hwy 287 for a 2-vehicle accident with one person transported to a local hospital. LCSO worked traffic control, with no hazards, CDOT assisted with traffic control at the request of LCSO. Engine 61 and TVEMS were dispatched to the 300 block of Columbine Circle for a patient with food poisoning. TVEMS assumed patient care.     Richard Allen Link left his Berthoud home October 6, 2023, to go to his heavenly home. Dick, as he liked to be called, was born in Great Bend, Kansas to Bernard Martin Link and Rosalia (Sally) Stein Link, March 9, 1941. Dick attended twelve years of school in Chase, Kansas where he played football and ran in track. The 440-meter dash was his specialty, and he won the state championship his senior year.
