June 1 - 6 Tuesday, June 1 Felony Warrant Arrest / Resisting Arrest / Impersonation: W CR 8 / Hwy 287- Male was contacted on a welfare check and provided a false name and his identity was confirmed later after he walked away. Located at Meadowlark Dr hours later and attempted to flee. Deputies apprehended the suspect and took him into custody.   Search for: We have heard nothing of this, but it shows that even Berthoud is not safe from those who claim to protect and serve. We are learning what people of color have known for years, don't call the police on your neighbor unless you want him killed. Also notable is that the deputies fired 5 shots at an unarmed man, framed in a doorway, and missed him every time. Squad 61 responded to the 1400 block of Biffle Court for a lift assist. Engine 61 dispatched to the 1000-1200 block of 42nd Street SE for a motor vehicle accident. May 1-2 Saturday, May 1 Unsafe Lane Change / Eluding: CR.8, a 17-year-old male was contacted on a traffic stop for speeding and unsafe passing. After the male provided documentation for the vehicle he drove away from the stop after asking if he would receive the citation.         April 1- 4 Thursday, April 1 Vehicle Crash / Hit & Run: E. Colorado Avenue. A resident reported someone ran into his truck causing damage to his truck and pushing it into a van causing more damage. Fire destroys home west of Berthoud

          Photos by Berthoud Fire Protection District                             Berthoud Fire responded to structure fire early Thursday morning. By the time they arrived, the first responders found the home heavily involved. Five people were confirmed to have safely evacuated the home and were not injured. The home in the 3000 block of West County Road 8 was substantially damaged.
